Atabal School’s presentation ceremony

Last Friday, 10th June, the 4th year ESO students from Colegio El Atabal presented the book El Cementerio Inglés de Málaga (The English Cemetery in Malaga) in the Assembly Hall of the Faculty of Education Sciences. It is a work coordinated by the Secondary Geography and History teacher and head of studies at the school, Carlos San Millán. The event was attended by Mr. Francisco José Rodríguez Marín, Professor of Art History at the University of Málaga, and Mr. Fernando Leguina Roig, Director General of Education of Málaga City Council, who represented the City Council.

For more than thirty minutes, the students presented to the parents and members of the entire educational community the work of initiation to the research that is materialised in a book. The study echoes the various activities carried out in research and learning: a guided visit to the cemetery, a conference at the school by the teacher F. J. Rodríguez Marín, the compilation of historical data through the existing bibliography and the numerous digital newspaper libraries and the creation of numerous sketches within the framework of the subject of Plastic Education. In addition to the exhibition in Spanish, the 4th year ESO students did the same in French and English. In short, a totally transversal research project which this year reached its thirteenth edition and which is already a classic for the pupils in the 4th year of ESO at El Atabal School. Both Professor Rodríguez Marín and the Director General of Education praised the great work carried out by all the students. They highly praised the joint work of all the teachers.
