Las Noches del Inglés

The English Cemetery in Malaga, the oldest Protestant necropolis in the Iberian Peninsula, will be launching Las Noches del Inglés from 7 July, an initiative which, for the first time in the history of this historic enclave of the city, will combine surprising decorative lighting and a full cultural agenda with which to enjoy the magical summer nights.

Thousands of lights will fill the space with enchantment, creating a totally unique atmosphere which, together with the attractive cultural proposal, will make the English Cemetery of Malaga one of the must-see spots of the summer in Malaga.

To this end, until 17 September the cemetery will open its doors at a special time between 20.00 and 00.00h – in addition to its usual opening hours of 9:00 to 14:00 hours – so that visitors who so wish can enjoy the spectacular light decorations. A view that will be completed with the cultural activities that will start between 20.30 and 22.00h.

In addition, Las Noches del Inglés will have its own terrace, La Terraza del Inglés, where drinks and the best snacks will be served surrounded by a unique atmosphere in the city. A charming corner where you can have a bite to eat while enjoying a unique cultural offer in the company of family and friends.

Las Noches del Inglés is a project of the Fundación Cementerio Inglés and is sponsored by the Consejería de Turismo, Cultura y Deporte de la Junta de Andalucía, co-financed with European Funds, as well as with the collaboration of the Área de Cultura del Ayuntamiento de Málaga, the EMT, Morales Iluminación, the Vicerrectorado de Cultura de la Universidad de Málaga, enPie, Deseo Karnal, Bodegas Victoria Ordóñez and the creative studio La Madre de los Beatles.

Las Noches del Inglés were born with the aim of raising funds for the preservation and care of the space, to value the heritage and history of the cemetery and to pay tribute to each of the people who are in it because there is no better tribute to those who are not there than to fill this space with life.

Therefore, the entrance to Las Noches del Inglés will be 5€ per person (free for children up to 12 years old and for “Friends of the English”) and will give access to the cemetery to enjoy the decorative lights and have a great time with the programme. The proceeds will go towards the upkeep of this historic enclave.  Tickets can only be purchased at the ticket office of the English Cemetery in Malaga.
